Free Public WiFi With Cisco Meraki

Brandon from Team One Solutions, here. I just wanted to quickly talk about a recent Cisco Meraki implementation that I am working on. It's for a multi-site customer that wants to provide high-quality, free, public Wi-Fi access at three of their buildings in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We're actually upgrading an existing wireless infrastructure we installed for them about five years ago that has reached its end of life due to increased use of wireless devices and some new and improved Wi-Fi technology, such as simultaneous dual-band 80211AC access points and better cloud-based monitoring tools that were not available then, five years ago.

They wanted a fully managed product that would be easy to troubleshoot and monitor client usage. So Meraki was the obvious choice. They chose to implement the full array of Meraki products including the firewalls, switches, and access points. One of the first sites that we did in San Francisco has about 95 network devices online and a couple other buildings in the Bay Area with 25 to 30 devices online. And I am going to try to show you some views of the dashboard here. I'll cut those in next.

Update: See the follow-up Meraki Public Wi-Fi video here.
