Free Public Wi-Fi Using Cisco Meraki

In a previous blog article I talked about a recent Cisco Meraki implementation that we just completed for a San Francisco Bay area company that wated to offer free public Wi-Fi.

Hello, Brandon at Team One Solutions here, following up on a previous video where I talked about a free public Wi-Fi implementation we did. I wanted to show you a little bit of the dashboard as I referred to. 

This is a summary report for one particular network. As you can see here, mapped with the access points, APs by usage; top clients' usage details, broken down by applications; top client device manufacturers and top operating systems by usage.

I'll just drill down a little bit on one of these for inches. So, let say we're interested in what's happening with Netflix being used so much on our network. I can click on Netflix. I can see which clients are contributing to that rule. Who's using the most?

I can drill down on that particular device and see, if they're connected, approximately where they are in the building. It could actually show details, see exactly what applications they are using. And if I wanted to, I could apply a network policy perhaps to block or throttle, depending on how I had that configured. 

So that's just a quick example of what you can do with the power of the Cisco Meraki dashboard.
